What is FUBAR Labs?
Fair Use Building and Research Labs is a Nonprofit Corporation serving Central New Jersey. В We provide a physical space where people with common interests, typically in science, technology, or digital and electronic art can meet, socialize and collaborate. We are an open community lab, workshop, studio, and classroom where people of diverse backgrounds can come together to share resources and knowledge to build, create, craft, and learn about art and technology.
What is our Mission?
The DIY (Do-it-yourself) ethic refers to the ethic of being self-reliant by completing tasks oneself as opposed to having others who are more experienced or able complete them for you. It promotes the idea that an ordinary person can learn to do more than he or she thought was possible.
The Hacker Ethic is the belief that information sharing is a powerful positive good, and that it is an ethical duty of hackers to share their expertise by writing open-source code and facilitating access to information and to computing resources wherever possible.
Our organization and its community of participants represents a confluence of these philosophies.В Our mission is to provide a work space, storage, and other resources for projects related to art and technology; and to encourage research, knowledge exchange, learning, and mentoring through talks, workshops, classes, collaborative projects, and other activities in a safe, clean space.
